NYCHA Brooklyn PACT
Brooklyn, New York
Section 8 capped at 30% of income | May 2022
The renovations included implementing high-efficiency boilers, environmentally retrofitting the buildings against extreme weather events, and a partnership with the local nonprofit Solar One to install solar panels on the rooftops of four developments.
Arker was selected through an RFP process for the 2,625-unit NYCHA Brooklyn PACT conversion covering nine developments that provided 6,300 low-income residents state-of-the-art new homes without displacement or rent increases through a $350 million renovation. The PACT conversion was completed in May 2022 in celebration with Mayor Eric Adams, tenant leaders, and local officials at a ribbon cutting. Residents now have their apartments renovated, including kitchens, bathrooms, windows, and flooring; building elevators and heating systems are fully rehabilitated; and there are improved safety and security measures, including new high-tech intercom and security camera systems.
