The Edgemere neighborhood in Far Rockaway will be home to a new town center that will revitalize the community. Edgemere Commons will create 2,050 units of 100% affordable housing, including 270 units dedicated to seniors, approximately 150,000 square feet of commercial and community facility spaces, and 600-700 permanent new jobs. Project highlights include a much-needed full-service grocery store and a wide public open space for the entire community to enjoy. With construction beginning in 2022, the phased 11-building development will be completed in 2034.
